He then went on to collaborate with many other artists and his 2015’s song, Esclava, which featured Anonimus, and Almighty helped push his career into a new height. He released his mixtape, Real Hasta La Muerte, in 2016 which featured songs about sex, violence, drugs, and murder. The mixtape was a huge success with positive reviews from both critics and the audiences.
Anuel AA was arrested the same year his mixtape was released for the possession of weapons. He was driving a car containing pistols and bullets which led him to face weapon charges and was sentenced to five-year prison. The charges were later dropped to 30 months. During his trial in court, he said that although his lyrics are vulgar, his personality is different. Even while getting confined in prison, Anuel AA did not stop writing songs. He released his first full-length album named after his mixtape the same day he was released from prison. After the huge success of his debut album, he released many singles and got featured in songs of other artists. His 2019’s single, China, debuted at number two on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs and he is currently said to be working on his second album.
